I almost forgot...
November 7, 2010 - February 19, 2011
104 days
I'd forgotten just how much I enjoy it, want it and need it.

Sitting in the garage like a forgotten child covered in dust, used as a storage shelf, this was my baby and I'd thought about selling her, saying to hell with it, changing my direction.
But...
This 749 pound chunk of metal made up of hundreds and hundreds of parts that with the push of a button begins to rumble. One twist of the grip makes it roar and it all comes back, the memories of the first ride, the friends you've made over the years, those special times when your destination was "out there", no plans, no schedule, no one waiting for that report.
Yesterday was that day.
Three out and three back, idle down the drive, out over the hump of sand that they blade in my drive, first then second, get the feel for riding on a sand road once again, up to the corner, and by the neighbors that give that look of "I want that" as I rode by, yes it's coming back. Hit third and I'm at 45, I'm sure it's too fast for the road, but it's something I've done a hundred times, next stop, Kellogg, watch the sand on the road when turning. There's a truck coming up on me and I can't let it pass me, first, second, third, forth I'm at 90, hitting that final gear I'm at 105 and climbing, 115 when I need to start shutting down to make the turn at Andale Road, next stop the empty Fire Station.

Take a couple pictures, bask in the feeling of being free if just for a moment.
Yes, this is what I've been missing, this is what I needed, remember all the rides last year, the poker runs, the 5 state run, the breakfast's, blowing by a group at 110, that feeling you get coming over the top of a hill, look ma no hands, staggered in a group, who's taking the lead, next stop, looking in the mirror, the things you see, the feeling of cool air on a 100 degree day when you ride through the trees, the smell of the air, the stench of death in the ditch, being pelted by rain, the laughing, mines faster than yours, did you see that, if you see it on a trailer call 911, which sunglasses should I wear today, fast hair, squint, the shirts, packing for hot weather, packing for cold weather, packing for rain, packing for all three, the new places to stop, the long list of firsts that come with being "out there".

749 pounds of iron. Who knew it could do so much.
Fast hair and a smile feels good on me.
do or don't

We have choices every day,
- happy or sad
- talk or silence
- positive or negative
- in or out
- yes or no
- thank you or no thank you
- sink or swim
- help or hinder
- care or ignore
- be there or ignore
- happy or sad
- mad or glad
Someone offered to make a call, but this was my deal, time to suck it up, stop waiting, stop worrying, whats the worst that could happen?
The call was made, voice mail, message left, back to waiting, more reassurance, talk me down off the ledge, phone rings, not great news but not bad news, time to start the wait all over again but this time with a bit more confidence.
What we do with the day we're given it entirely up to us, what you do with the choice, how you react to choice and what you convey with the choice is up to everyone of us.
What choice will you make today?
Comfort levels...

We're all comfortable and uncomfortable from time to time, and many times the same thing can make you one or the other,
- Your financial situation is going great until that unexpected expense comes up
- Your favorite sweater is just right until you get a tear in it
- Your favorite shoes feel great until a rock gets inside
- You love that chair until the cushion starts to sag
- It's a great meeting until someone asks that unexpected question
- That favorite suit fits great until it shrinks overnight in the closet
Get your happy on....

Stresser's come and go, it's what we do with them that matters,
- Job's
- Kid's
- Money
- Relationships
What you think they are, they are.
I've been pretty damn fortunate for most of my life, once had a guy what worked for me tell me I was a "spoon fed baby" not that I had money growing up, but because I could fall into a pile of crap and come out smelling like a rose.
- huge bonuses
- sales contracts that were amazing
- move and shake with the big boys in the top 100
- the picture perfect family to the outside world
This isn't the norm...but this to shall pass...
Happy Valentines

I read about 10 other blogs every morning as part of my "ritual"
Today one of them I follow listed 365 simple pleasures to brighten your year...the first 10 struck home
- Songs that bring you back to great moments in your life.
- Sleeping right next to someone you truly love.
- Accidentally overhearing someone say nice things about you.
- Laughing so hard you don’t even make any noise.
- That instant when the thing you didn’t understand suddenly makes complete sense.
- Those random good-hair days when you just feel beautiful or handsome.
- Kissing someone and smiling at the same time.
- When you drop something and then swiftly grab it in mid-air before it hits the ground.
- When questions on an exam give away the answers to other questions on the same exam.
- The feeling you get when a group of friends all laugh really hard at one of your random jokes.
Sounds easy...

Conversation
- Listen
- Take a breath
- Speak
- Repeat
- Did it work
- Did you accomplish anything
- Did they listen
- Did you listen
What would you do with it?

What if you found out today that you only had 24 hours to live....
- What would you do with the time you had left
- Who would you run to
- Who would you tell
- What would you say
- Who would you spend it with
- Would you apologize for all your wrongs
- Would you attempt to make things right
- Would you want to give away your things
- Would you have something special to eat
- Would you write one last blog
- Would you update your facebook page with one last message
- Would you made a video for your kids, your grand kids
- Would you that one thing you always wanted to do
- Would those that you love know that you really loved them
- Would you write down all your thoughts and leave them for others
- Would you share your deep, dark secrets
So the question of the day is...
What would YOU do?
And why aren't you doing it already?
What a party
Just Be
