that's the way it's been with me and ink the past couple of years. nope, there's no more room, nope, i'm not addicted to them, yes, this is the last one.
then out of the blue and idea hits you, why not one made of his fingerprints and put it in the shape of a heart, but no, it's not going to be visible if i wear a short sleeve shirt.
but how do i find his fingerprints? then i remember, he spent the night in the lovely accommodations of the wichita/sedgwick county jail one time, they'll give them to me, it's an open record state right?
no it's not. so a call to the sheriff, "sorry, but you'll have to get an attorney to petition them for you", a call to the state, "sorry but you'll have to get an attorney to petition them for you" and finally a call to the wpd where the response was, let me put you thru to the city attorney's office, "i hate to have you do this, but if you can bring me a copy of his obituary or death certificate i'll get you a copy"
once i had the copy, how do i create it? a few tweeks inside publisher to get the look i want and a call to scott (who helps with my advertising designs) and boom, it's created.
a call to bryan at addictions in ink for the appointment and 30 minutes later i have new ink just below and inside the bend of my elbow (so much for no more ink and never having one that shows with a short sleeve shirt) hey, a guy can change his mind for the right reason right?
long story short, i'm loving it, it's him and it goes along with the other two that i have that were his, one that is the initials he signed every piece of artwork he drew and the other that just said, "dad, you need to get this one"
so there you have it, the story of nic's fingerprint tattoo. and yes, that's the last one, no more, well, maybe just a couple more.
